Welcome to Biker Dude week here at OPOD. We intend to bring you some of the badest biker dudes from the start of the last century. This picture was taken in 1914. Pictured is Mr. Weishaar, who had just won a 100 mile motorcycle race. He made the run in just over 2 hours. I have never really gotten the motorcycle fever myself. They would be fun, but are just too dangerous. No matter how careful you are, other people don't see motorcycles that well, and so riding one is a pretty big risk in my mind.
Domestic Update:
Lovie is now on day 8 of sitting on her nest. Not sure how long it takes to hatch peacock eggs, but she is sticking with it. I mentioned last week that she decided to lay her eggs in the chicken coop. At first things went fairly smoothly, but more recently she has decided she does not want the chickies to bunk in there with her. A few nights ago, they went in and got on their roosts, and she went around and chased them all out. They sat outside for about 5 minutes, and then went back in. She chased them out again, and then they waited another 5 minutes and went back in. They finally wore her down, and they were able to roost in their coop. This has been going on for the last few nights. Hopefully, she will stop harassing them, as it is their home. So, we will wait and watch and see if we end up with a batch of baby peacocks.
